About

A custom pool builder — not a package pool company

A custom pool isn't a product you pull off a shelf. It's a structure engineered for one lot, one family, and one climate. That's the only kind of pool Artistic Pools and Spas builds.

Every pool we build starts as a blank sheet and develops based on your goals, how you intend to use the pool, and your yard — the shape, the depth, the ledges and steps, the way the water reads from your kitchen window, to where the afternoon shade falls. We don't drop the same three pools into every yard. We design yours.

And we build it for Tucson, Marana, and Oro Valley specifically. The desert is hard on a pool — hard water, caliche, monsoon runoff, dust, debris from trees and shrubs, relentless summer sun — and the best pool builders are the ones who design for all of it from day one. That's what separates a “package pool builder” from a “custom pool builder.”

That's the “artistic” in Artistic Pools and Spas.

offering

What we build

We design and build a full range of custom swimming pools, plus the spas, water and fire features, and patio spaces that complete them. Every project is drawn from scratch for your yard, your budget, and your timeline.

Custom Pools and Spas

Custom pool and spa design and construction in Tucson, Marana, and Oro Valley.

Infinity and Negative Edges

Negative edges and perimeter overflows: catch basins sized to the surge, a dedicated edge pump, and whatever your grade actually requires.

Custom Water Features

Water walls, sheet falls and scuppers, spa spillways, deck jets, and bubblers — plumbed, lit, and wired into the controller panel.

Pool Patio and Deck Drain

Travertine, pavers, and porcelain set on the right base for each. Pitched away from the pool, with deck drains where pitch alone can't move pool water or rain fall.

Pool Remodels

New interior finish, waterline tile, coping, and equipment on a pool you already own.

Regular Pool Maintenance

Scheduled weekly service on the pool we built or the one you inherited — water chemistry, filter cleaning, and equipment checks.

equipment

Brands we trust

We build with equipment we're willing to stand behind.

Pentair

IntelliFlo3 VSF pumps, IntelliChlor Plus salt cells, IntelliBrite 5G color LEDs, and UltraTemp ETi hybrid heaters, all run from one WiFi controller.

Paramount

PCC2000 in-floor cleaning, SDX2 high-flow safety drains, and a debris canister that catches leaf litter before it reaches your pump basket.

PebbleTec

PebbleTec and PebbleSheen interiors. More forgiving than plaster on color and texture as the pool ages, and the finish decision that changes how your water reads more than any other.

National Pool Tile

Waterline tile and StoneScapes finishes, selected in person against your coping and patio — because tile that looks right on a sample board can look wrong in Tucson sun.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you build the entire pool project?

Yes. As a licensed pool contractor we provide a turnkey construction process including design, permitting, excavation, plumbing, steel and shotcrete, gas and electrical, pool coping and patio, equipment start-up and Owner training.

Can you design a pool to match my home’s architecture?

Absolutely. We always consider the home's architecture (for new construction and existing homes) when designing pools and landscapes.

What options are available?

There are many options including but not limited to smart controllers, in-floor cleaning systems for pool, spa and troughs, standard gas or propane heaters, high efficiency heaters, pool and spa covers, bubblers, water features, upgraded tile and interior pool finishes, color LED lights, ultra violet and ozone water sanitation to reduce the amount of chemicals used.

How long does a standard pool take to build?

Most pools take 2 to 3 months to build from start of excavation to completion. Larger pools and more complicated pools may take longer. The pool and spa proposal will include a projected start date and completion date.

Can I add a new spa to an existing pool?

Yes. We can retrofit an existing pool with a new spa. We also remodel existing pools and spas with new tile, interior finishes and other features.
